INCB Civil Society Hearing 2020

Due to the situation in regards to COVID-19 the third civil society hearing for the INCB board, planned for May 13, 2020 will be postponed to a yet indeterminate date.

All applications to speak at the the hearing already received will be kept for future consideration, and we will reopen the call for speakers as soon as a new date is confirmed. Please don’t hesitate to contact info@vngoc.org if you have any questions.

The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) will host its third civil society hearing for the INCB board members on the margins of this years INCB board meeting. The hearing will be on the topic of “The Use of Drugs Among Older Persons” and will tentatively  take place on May 13 2020, 10 a.m. in Vienna, Austria. 

Due to the rapidly changing situation in regards to COVID-19 the hearing might be held in another format, postponed or even cancelled. To allow enough time for preparations we are nonetheless inviting you to apply for the speaking opportunity now. Please contact info@vngoc.org in case you have any questions. 

Up to 12 NGOs will have the possibility to present their work and positioning on this issue during the meeting. In order to ensure an inclusive, comprehensive and meaningful civil society participation NGOs will work through the VNGOC to coordinate contributions. 

Each speaker will have 5-8 minutes to present his or her work on the above issue. Selected speakers will be asked to send in their statements or videos incl. transcripts no later than 05 May 2020. Interpretation  will in all likelihood be available at the day of the hearing but all abstracts have to be submitted in English.
