As you are aware due to COVID-19 the 128th session of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), originally planned for May 2020 had to be postponed together with the Civil Society Hearing also planned for the 128th session.
The 128th board session will now take place in a shortened version rom 31 August to 4 September and while it will not be possible to hold a full civil society hearing the INCB is inviting written submissions from civil society on the topic of “the use of drugs among older persons”.
In order to ensure an inclusive, comprehensive and meaningful civil society participation, NGOs will work through the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC) which has been requested to coordinate contributions.
We are therefor inviting you to submit your written submission on the topic of “the use of drugs among older persons” to info@vngoc.org as soon as possible but no later than 24 August 2020.
- Submissions should not exceed 1,500 words
- Statements need to be submitted in English
- Deadline: 24 August 2020, 11.55 p.m. CEST
