CND Special Event: commemorating the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and launching the World Drug Report
(Deadline: 15 June, 11.55 p.m. CEST)

The Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) and the will be holding a virtual event commemorating the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and launching the 2020 World Drug Report.  

The event will take place virtually on Wednesday, 26 June at 2 p.m. Vienna Time (CEST).

This is the second public CND event that will be held virtually, and to enable civil society participation within the technological limits, the VNGOC has been invited to nominate four civil society participants, who will have the opportunity to publish their statements on the CND website and make a brief intervention during the event, if time permits. 

In addition the event will be webcast to make sure everyone who is interested will be able to follow.

In order to apply for a speaking slot, please fill out the google form before Monday, 15 June 2020, 11.55 p.m. Vienna Time (CEST). Please make sure that your abstract is relevant to the topic of the meeting, keeping in mind the work of the CND, the launch of the 2020 World Drug Report and the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Please note that we cannot guarantee that selected candidates will be able to speak during the event, due to time constraints. In case not all civil society interventions can be made during the event, the statements will be published on the CND website.
