Global Developments on HIV/AIDS, and UNODC’s Partnership with Civil Society: a webinar for civil society organisations

On October 28th 2021 the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC) together with the UNODC HIV/AIDS Section hosted a webinar for civil society presenting the latest global developments on HIV/AIDS and discussion UNODC’s Partnership with Civil Society. It was held in English on Zoom with interpretation in French, Russian and Spanish.

The event featured a presentation on global commitments regarding HIV/AIDS, including the Global AIDS Strategy 2021-2026 and the work of the UNODC/HIV Section headed by Fariba Soltani. Matt Southwell (IDPC) and Edith Riegler (Penal Reform International) provided information on UNODCs partnership with civil society on HIV/AIDS and prisons, and were followed by a presentation from Doan Than Tung (Lighthouse Vietnam) that gave insight on the cooperation between UNODC and Community Based Organisations (CBO).
