CND Special Event to commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and to launch the 2025 World Drug Report
The Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will hold an event commemorating the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and launching the 2024 UNODC World Drug Report. The event will take place in person on June 26th at 2 p.m. CEST (Vienna time, UTC+2) at the Vienna International Centre and will be webcast on UN WebTV.
The VNGOC has been invited to nominate up to three civil society participants, who will have the opportunity to make a brief intervention (max. 2 min) during the event.

Please make sure that your abstract is relevant to the topic of the meeting, keeping in mind the work of the CND, the launch of the 2025 World Drug Report, and how to best use the data contained in the World Drug Report to tackle drug related issues.
The 2025 World Drug Report presents the latest global, regional, and subregional data and trends in drug demand and supply, with an emphasis on usability and accessibility through an interactive online format. The World Drug Report 2025 will provide a wealth of data and analysis on the latest trends in drug demand and supply and cross-cutting issues together with three thematic chapters on:
- the impact of drug use with a focus on health;
- the links between drug trafficking and organized crime;
- and the impact of drugs on the environment in Europe.
