UN Toolkit on Synthetic Drugs: Ask the Expert Live – ACCESS AND DIVERSION PREVENTION

Ensuring access to controlled medicines for medical and scientific purposes, while preventing their diversion, is an integral part of international drug control. 

Advancing the recommendations of this year’s Commission on Narcotic Drugs Joint Call to Action on Scaling Up the Implementation of International Drug Policy Commitments on Improving Availability of and Access to Controlled Substances for Medical and Scientific Purposes the UNODC Synthetic Drug Strategy is pleased to invite you to the Ask the Expert LIVE Consultation Session of the UN Toolkit on Synthetic Drugs, dedicated to Access and Diversion Prevention, which will be held on June 28th 2022

The UN Toolkit on Synthetic Drugs pulls together relevant key resources and tools developed by UNODC, INCB and WHO in a specialized module of Access and Diversion Prevention.  Leveraging the information found in the Toolkit, the Synthetic Drug Strategy is making available a platform to consult directly with UN subject matter experts in this field to give participants the opportunity to get real time answers to technical questions. 

We are pleased to invite you to join the next session which will focus on Access and Diversion Prevention and will be hosted by experts from UNODC,WHO the Secretariat of the INCB. This session will include information and guidance on how to ensure access to essential medicines, while preventing their diversion. Our guest experts for the session will be Ms. Giovanna Campello, Chief at UNODC Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section, Ms. Dilkushi Poovendran, Technical Officer at WHO Health Products Policy and Standards Department and Mr. Stefano BerterameChief, Narcotics Control and Estimates Section at the Secretariat of INCB who will respond to your questions on this topic. 

Questions may be sent in advance through the Toolkit’s “Ask an Expert” page or simply asked during the session.  

Please note that two live sessions have been scheduled to offer an opportunity for all partners, stakeholders and Toolkit users from around the world to take part.
