APPLICATION PERIOD: 11 January to 22 January 2020
As the COVID-19 situation in 2021 is unpredictable, the registration for the side events will proceed as per established practice for the time being. Closer to the session, the feasibility of in-person and hybrid side events will be evaluated.
Side events may be organized by:
- Member States through their Permanent Mission to the UN
- UNODC branches, sections or units through the director of the respective divisionUNODC field offices
- UN entities
- Intergovernmental Organizations, and
- NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC
Only one event per organizer will be accepted. Efforts will be made to accommodate as many requests as possible that meet the eligibility criteria. Events will be accommodated in order of receipt of the application (“first come, first served”). Events submitted by Member States will be accommodated, before all other submissions.
Organizers are kindly invited to follow the guidelines for side events in 2021. The guidelines contain relevant information on organizational matters and build upon the lessons learnt from previous sessions.
